I can barely believe it myself, but here is a Roundup post! I know, right? It hasn’t even been a whole month yet. I am hoping to make these weekly things, so that by the time I link you guys to something, it’s not horrendously out of date. For instance, it’s hardly news now that Texas Governor Rick Perry has entered the presidential race. But two months ago, it was big news!

Writing about Sharia is always fun. I get the best most interesting comments. Usually along the lines of me being a hater or Islamaphobe or something. I roll my eyes. Of course I’m a hater of any doctrine that instructs people to kill a rape victim for sexual impurity. In this particular case though, I give props to a young lady’s family for defying convention and not murdering their daughter.
Attorney General Eric Holder is either a liar or he’s incompetent. The end.

The latest round of Obamacare mandates are guaranteed to raise the cost of health care. Who cares if the care is crappy as long as everyone gets has to wait six months for it?
And there’s the Week 3 Recap for Glee. The show wasn’t that bad (politically speaking) last week.
Working 9 to 5, what a way to make a livin! Heh. Work-at-home moms laugh in that song’s face. Clocking out? What’s that like? Hold that thought, I think my kids are jumping off the top bunk again, and I don’t have time for an ER trip today so I really need to stop them before there’s a broken arm that needs tending.

In between choruses of “I’m hungry!” and breaking up fights and swimming and paying bills and visiting with adorable chubby babies, I wrote some stuff. You should totally read it. In the words of Thing 2, “Cuz I say so.”

Do you know how much oil we’re sitting on in the U.S? A lot. Way more than Saudi Arabia. You know what would be cool? Creating nearly a million American jobs and lowering the cost of fuel. Drill, baby, drill.

Shared sacrifice my hiney. If I hear President Obama say one more time that ‘the rich’ have to pay their fair share, I will scream. Or at least tweet about it. Because Dude? You know what’s not fair? That fact that half the population pays nothing.
I tapped some keys last week. Some words were strung together. You should go read it all because its like totally thought-provoking and schtuff. And also because page views make me feel good about myself, and as a child of the 80s, I know that’s way more important than math or reading skills.
Some of the comments on my Obamacare Spies piece are so ripe with naiveté that I don’t wonder how Nancy Pelosi gets reelected. Maybe basic comprehension skills are more important than self-esteem after all. Oh well.
Also on Obamacare, I wrote about how the individual mandate bullies Americans into buying health insurance. I used the Obama admin’s own guidelines for recognizing bullies to prove my point. I love hoisting people on their own petards. I hate the words hoist and petard. I promise not to use them again. At least not with cringing.
And then there was that study that suggested Republicans are more patriotic than Democrats. Uh … duh. Democrats need to abandon the Harry Reids of their party and get back to pride in their country. It’s a rockin’ place to live, work, and play.
Another week, another round of Obamacare waivers. One has to wonder at this point if the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act applies to anyone anymore. It certainly doesn’t seem to apply to friends of President Obama.
They’re all getting waivers.
The Obama administration granted 204 new waivers nationwide in April, and almost 20 percent of them went to fancy restaurants and hotels in San Francisco. It’s probably a coincidence that San Francisco is former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s district. Ms. Pelosi, along with her Senatorial counterpart Harry Reid, was one of the biggest pushers of Obamacare when the president was trying to get it passed.
The other 80 percent of the waivers went to the usual recipients:labor unions, large corporations, financial firms, andlocal governments. How nice it must be to be in bed with big government. Sarah Palin had a succinct response to the Pelosi waiver revelation:
“Unflippingbelievable! No, wait, it is believable,” Palin said in an email to TheDC (The Daily Caller). “Seriously, this is corrupt. And anyone who still supports the Pelosi-Reid-Obama agenda of centralized government takeovers of the free market and the corresponding crony capitalism is, in my book, complicit.”
One of the aspects of Obamacare that has gotten a lot of attention for being unconstitutional is the individual mandate. This is the section of the Affordable Care Act that requires all citizens to purchase health insurance, regardless of their need, desire, or financial ability to pay for it.
In a perfect world, no one would ever get sick and require medical attention. In a fantasy world, doctors would work for free, and no one would ever have to worry about their ability to purchase health insurance. Since it’s a fantasy world, mechanics, plumbers, estheticians, babysitters, and housekeepers would also work for free.
Much to my chagrin, this is not a perfect world, and fantasy is not reality. Medical care is neither a right nor a privilege — it is a service, and as such, it must be paid for or donated.
Since health care is a service, Americans should have the ability to choose whether or not they want to spend their money on it. It’s not really anyone’s business as to how another person spends their money on their health.
Last March, then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi boldly told the public that the Affordable Care Act needed to be passed before we could find out what was in it. The bill was soon passed and signed into law, and one year later, we are still peeling back the layers on the onion that is Obamacare.
Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) originally didn’t support President Obama’s health care initiative, but for a different reason than his Republicans counterparts. Where Republicans on the Hill voted against a massive intrusion of government into 1/6 of the economy, Rep. Weiner wasn’t fond of Obamacare because he didn’t believe it went far enough. The congressman sponsored an amendment to implement universal coverage – Medicare for all.
It’s official. People don’t like the new health care law. Half of the states are suing the Obama Administration to stop Obamacare. How many ways do we need to say it? Except for a few fringe leftists, nobody likes the bill that had to be made law before we could find out what was in it.
We decorated protest signs with magic markers, we went to rallies, we abandoned the mainstream media, we went to Washington, we elected a Republican in Massachusetts … We said, “No thank you,” to Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi and their bankrupting bill disguised as ‘health care reform.’
They rammed it down our throats anyway and told us we should be grateful. They insist that it reduces the deficit, and that repealing it would ‘cost’ taxpayers $230 billion over 10 years. I’m not sure how repealing a $940 billion spending bill adds to the debt, but then again, I’m still confused as to why I should pay someone else’s medical bills.
SEIU (Service Employees International Union) has spent millions of dollars getting Barack Obama and other Democrats elected. The famously left-wing labor union supported the presidential candidate that was going to pay Peggy Su’s mortgage and put gas in her car.
Unions are all about the little people.
One of Obama’s biggest campaign promises was for health care reform, specifically universal health care. It works so well in Canada, after all. SEIU openly supported Obama in the 2008 Presidential election.
Obama was elected, everyone partied (and left their litter behind), and everyone waited for change to come to America. In one of the few campaign promises that the President has actually kept, he signed into law a bill that would transform our health care system into a nationalizedone.
Be careful what you wish for. Since ObamaCare passed last March, small businesses have dropped health care coverage for their employees while big businesses got special exemptions, and drug relabeling has discriminated against women with cancer. Taxes have gone up, and will continue to do so.
Are you ready for the biggest tax increase in United States history? Me neither. My only hope is that the still Democratic-majority Congress will vote to extend or even make permanent the so-called Bush tax cuts.
As it stands now, everyone’s taxes are set to go up January 1. The average American household making the average American income of $52,029 will see its federal taxes go up 10%, from $11,261 to $12,441.
That’s a lot of money to be forking over to the government so that Congressman John Conyer’s scalper son can have a sweet ride.
It seems that most of Congress wants to extend some of the tax cuts — specifically for those households making under $250,000 or individuals making under $200,000 annually.
This discriminates against high-income earners, who are already picking up more than their fair share. The top 1% of earners (those making more than $352,900) pay 28.1% of all federal taxes. Despite what Warren Buffet says about ‘doing his part’ for society, it’s not fair to foist your beliefs on other people.
